The smaller dimensions of the plot lead us to build on two levels here preserving a generous outdoor patio. A sculptural floating staircase takes central stage, framed by an indoor garden and crowned by a large skylight that draws natural light into the heart of the home. An architectural feature that would become a signature element of our projects.
The abundance of existing trees inspires the strategic placement of large windows, bringing the surrounding landscape into every room while encouraging cross-ventilation throughout the house.
Nature flows through the home via its views, natural light, and cross-ventilation, allowing the Caribbean breeze to keep the interiors comfortable even in summer. The organically shaped pool, inspired by feng shui principles, creates a sense of flow, while wooden ceiling beams in the social areas and a generous pergola on the upper terrace bring warmth and shade, overlooking the pool.
